ARTHUR RAWLINGS

Enlisted in Melbourne in 1914 as a driver under the name "A. Rollings" 2754. Arthur left for the Middle East on HMAT Katuna with the 1st Division Ammunition Column and possibly served at Gallipoli.

Later he was transferred to the 21st Field Artillery Brigade and appointed acting bombardier for action in France. While serving in the   5th Battery 2nd Field Artillery Brigade he died of wounds received in action on 3 May 1917. Arthur was buried in the Vaulx Hill British Cemetery, Bapaume France (Plot 2, Row F, Grave 28).
