| Prior to Stephen emigrating to Australia documents have been found that do indeed indicate that Stephen was a soldier with the British Army. As shown in the image below, he is recorded as being a Private soldier. Nothing else regarding his military career in Britain has been unearthed at this stage, but Maureen Campain has been in touch with someone over there who has managed to dig up some information, state tuned for more information on this. |
| It is recorded that Stephen had strong Military tendencies when he moved to Australia and perhaps this is where this came from. It is also recorded that Stephen married below his station, how this was determined, I am not sure, but it seems unlikely given that he was a Private soldier. Perhaps it is the case that he married someone of higher stature than himself, we should be able to resolve this in time if we manage to get hold of records. |
